Our kids have had fun putting their favorite tunes with their friend's calls. I highly recommend the product. Our family has loved having custom songs for each caller to our home phone. It's a great product that has worked without a flaw. You will love the extra flare it brings to all your incoming calls. It is very useful knowing who is calling before you get up to go to the phone. We set a specific tune for any caller that we don't know, which is an easy way to screen unwanted solicitations.
Great product. Plus, we chose ringtones that match each person's personality so it's fun to get calls and hear the phone ring. Lots of fun. Easy to set up and use and the on-line ringtone store that comes with the product gives you access to a wide selection of good ringtones that are reasonably priced. We assigned unique ringtones to all the people who call us the most and now we know who is calling without having to drop what we are doing and go over to look at the caller ID on the phone.
The Ringboxx is fun, it's convenient and affordable. Not to mention, the ringtones are so much more entertaining than the standard phone ringtones. Having customized ringtones for friends, family members, unwanted "800" callers allows me the freedom to decide whether or not I need to stop what I'm doing and take that call.
Considering that our cell phone ringtones cost between $3-$5 to purchase, we find the price of HPT's ringtones to be reasonable. All in all, we love the utility of the product. We purchased this product strictly as a home entertainment device and have not been disappointed.
If you are a stay-at-home mom or someone working from the home, the Ringboxx is a fantastic time saving device. Your kids will love it, too. In addition, the fact that record company manufacturers don't allow transfer of downloads is probably what prevents the company from offering them outside of their library which by the way, seems very extensive to us.
Yeah, it would be great to be able to dowload the ringtones from your cell phone to the Ringboxx but then you would incur a tranfer fee from your cell phone company.
I have five kids and we get lots of calls. For a small sum I can add other ring tones. This is a great product and worth every penny. Now I can know who is calling from anywhere in the house. It has been more than worth it for me. It saves time and hassle by not having to run to the phone every time it rings. Caller ID does not do the job because you still have to go to the phone or handset to see who it is.
I tried creating and importing a custom mp3 ring-tone and it will not work. The manufacturer has it on their site for $39). So for now I am stuck with only 4 ring-tones. I could not find anywhere in their product literature or on their web site, that the Ringboxx doesn't support custom ring-tones. If they fix the afore mentioned issues, I would recommend it. By the time I purchase a memory card and enough ring-tones, I will have spent more than the device cost (which apparently I overpaid through Amazon at $59. But until then, I don't recommend this product.
Again, you only get this info during the setup process. If I cannot return this product, I will NOT be buying more ringtones unless they drop SUBSTANTIALLY in price (everyone else charges about 99 cents). I wish I would have gotten one of those instead. The Ringboxx doesn't come with a selection of included ring-tones like a cell does. I have since found out there are phones (Panasonic to name one) available with "Talking Caller ID" for slightly more than I paid for the Ringboxx.
It isn't until you set up this device that you make that realization. I LOVE the idea, but had I known the expense and limitations, I would not have bought it. Not nearly enough for my needs. Also you can only purchase ring-tones from the company that makes the Ringboxx at $2 - $3 a piece. The 10 credits that came with the Ringboxx were only enough to purchase 4 ring-tones.
